Markus, takes on the power ropes, this was one of the rope movements we used ( I had to borrow the ropes of strength and conditioning coach, Gary Davis, as I didn’t have mine there. Cheers dude.)

Our metabolic circuit was as follows -

A1 – Power Ropes – 30 secs
A2 – Floor Press – 8 reps – 24kg
A3 – Sled Drag – 2 lengths – 45-50kg

Repeat 3-4

  1. Looks crazy, but I don’t think my local fitness first gym is going to allow me to bang 20M long rope onto their floor like this. ;)

Out of curiosity what is the purpose of power ropes, and is it possible to achieve the same effecting using other tools like the barbell or kettlebell?

Hahaha bring the ropes anyway. They’ll love it.

Power ropes can be used for various purposes whether it’s just a metabolic workout or in contrast/complex training. They’re brutal on the arms and it’s awesome for grip strength. You should try it out.
It’s completely different from a barbell or kettlebell, however it compliments the other two really well.
